Why I made Sanctum

I made Sanctum because I know how hard sexual temptation can be, especially when explicit content is one search, one tap, or one weak moment away.

A lot of blockers still give you too many easy ways to undo the decision you made when you were thinking clearly. Sanctum is meant to be more serious. When you lock a custom domain, the popup does not offer a remove button. The way out is to remove the extension itself.

Sanctum blocks many common adult sites and domains, but I want to be honest. The internet is huge, and there are still sites it may not catch yet. My hope is to keep adding less obvious domains over time and make it harder to drift back into porn.

Porn truly drains you. It steals attention, time, confidence, and potential. If Sanctum helps you step away even once, that matters.

This is for everyone. If you believe in God, I pray this helps you fight with more strength. If you do not believe in God but still want help getting away from porn, you are welcome here too.

What Sanctum does

Sanctum is a Chrome extension built for intentional blocking. It uses Chrome's built-in declarative network request system to redirect blocked adult domains to a local protection page.

  • Blocks a built-in list of known adult domains.
  • Lets you add custom domains from the popup.
  • Shows a calm blocked page with rotating encouragement quotes.
  • Keeps the blocked page focused on leaving the site.

Private windows

Chrome keeps extensions out of private windows unless the user allows them. To use Sanctum there, open chrome://extensions, choose Sanctum, open Details, then turn on Allow in Incognito.

After that Chrome permission is enabled, Sanctum can apply its blocking rules in private windows too.

Privacy first

Sanctum does not run ads, analytics, tracking pixels, or remote code. Custom blocked domains are stored with Chrome extension storage so blocking rules can keep working in the browser.
